Board meeting minutes of February 18, 2025
Chairman Nielsen called the meeting to order at 6pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.
Present: Chairman Nielsen, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Stephanie May, Maintenance Kevin Finder, Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor

Motion to approve January 21, 2025 minutes as written was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand, January 1, 2025 $90,129.47
January Receipts $336,688.88
Less January Disbursements $392,807.81
Book balance as of January 31, 2025 $34,010.54
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. Nielsen. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Last snow storm the dump truck was down, Kevin plowed with the grader. He took the truck to Cameron today and got it fixed. Zielies Tree Service will be in the township, Kevin has his number if anyone needs it. Kevin, Karl and Steve will go to the open house for Universal Truck Equipment on May 14th. Kevin talked to Jeff White (Rural Insurance), if we raise our deductable to $2500/claim, it will save us $731/yr. Motion was made to raise this to $2500 was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May. Approved.
Chairman Report: Steve put dryer sheets in and charcoal out around the town truck being stored at his place to keep the mice out.
Supervisors Report: Stephanie got an email back from Sergeant Stalker, the police dept cannot help us out with the matter of the resident not paying for his roll off day garbage because it is not a county or state matter. We can add it to his taxes at the end of the year.
Karl went to the Dunn County Unit WI Town’s Association meeting. Some discussion on what was talked about there. He got copies of the price increases from the county for road repairs.
Clerk-Treasurer Report: The loan funds for the town truck have been disbursed, $30,000 now and the remainder in September when we get it equipped.
No building permits
Committee Reports: No ambulance meeting this month. Still at 100% coverage for the month. Financials came in about the same as always.
No Plan Commission
Fire District met on Jan. 7th for a monthly meeting, discussion on how the first 30 days with the new fire chief went. On January 8th, Karl put in his resignation as Fire district chairman. The Fire District will be meeting tonight to elect a new chairman and vice chair.
