Board meeting minutes of January 21, 2025
Chairman Nielsen called the meeting to order at 6pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.
Present: Chairman Nielsen, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Stephanie May, Maintenance Kevin Finder, Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor, townspeople Nick Schaff, Adam Hackbarth, Arabella Hackbarth, Danette Hackbarth

Motion to approve December 17, 2024 minutes as written was made by S. May, 2nd by K. Hackbarth. Approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance on hand, December 1, 2024 $107,281.95
December Receipts $1,607.11
December Disbursements $18,759.69
Book balance as of December 31, 2024 $90,129.47
Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by S. May. Approved.
Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May. Approved.
Maintenance Report: Kevin called Rural Insurance about storing the truck, we just need to put comprehensive on it. He also asked Jeff about our deductable, it is currently at $250, we will up that to $1000, which will save us quite a bit of money.
Chairman Report: None
Supervisors Report: Stephanie spoke with Seargent Stalker about the resident billing on the dumping of trash on roll off day, he seemed willing to stop there and just talk to the resident about paying this bill.
Karl went to zoning about the place on the hill being a hazard to the EMS crew who may need to get in there. They looked at years past and it has gotten significantly worse. They will see what they can do and get back to Karl.
Clerk-Treasurer Report: Val has been in contact with Bremer Bank on the loan for the new truck. Board members looked through the borrowing resolution sent from Bremer, agreed to the terms and signed it.
Motion to approve getting a loan through Bremer for the new town truck was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth. Approved.
Prochnow Assessing is asking about dates for Open Book and Board of Review. Suggestion is Open Book, April 17, 2025 and Board of Review May 15, 2025. I will let Randy know those dates will work for us.
No Building Permits
Committee Reports: There was no ambulance meeting this month, financials went out to board members. All looks good. New ambulance is still on its way, no date as of yet. Chief Dow sent out average response times, some discussion on that.
Fire Department conducted interviews and unanimously voted in Josh Pittman as chief. They also created a fire district administrator, Greg Holden will hold this position. He will also be helping Josh in whatever way he can. Last nights meeting went well, they had a good turnout.
