Board meeting minutes of October 28, 2024

Chairman Nielsen called the meeting to order at 6pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI

Present:  Chairman Nielsen, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Stephanie May, Maintenance Kevin Finder and Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor

Pledge of Allegiance

Motion to approve September 9, 2024 minutes as written was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May.  Approved.

Treasurer’s Report:               Balance on hand September 1, 2024              $67,841.05

September Receipts                                             $2,247.41

Less September Disbursements                       $12,394.73

Book balance as of Sept. 30, 2024                   $57,693.73

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report as mailed was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by S. May. Approved.

Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by S. May, 2nd by K. Hackbarth. Approved.

The Board has given Val approval to pay bills by their due date and not wait until the meeting so that they don’t go late.

Maintenance Report: The resident that had the dumpster on Hwy. 12 and needed to get it moved has decided to use the Stanton Shop site for his garbage, so the dumpster will be gone.

The guy caught 2 beavers and is back catching more.

The Friday before Roll off day someone unloaded 2 loads in the dumpster, we found some mail in with the garbage with the person’s name on it.  Val will write a letter and send a bill.

Dustin Weidem is out and trimming back the brush on 770th.  He has a few more roads to go.

Chairman Report:  None

Supervisors Report: Question was asked and answered about a driveway.

Karl needs to be at the Fire Dept meetings and they meet on the 3rd Monday of the month, same as our monthly meetings.  We will change the township meetings temporarily to the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 19th

Clerk-Treasurer Report: None

Building Permits: None

Committee Reports: There have been several fire meetings since the Chairman and Chief both resigned.  Steve declined the Chairman position for the Fire District, Karl Hackbarth agreed and is now the Chairman of the Fire District.  There will be an ad in the paper for 2 weeks trying to find a Fire Chief for the fire district.

There was no ambulance meeting, financials went out and everything looks in the normal range.

 

New Business:  Go over Preliminary 2025 Budget

Went over line items and discussed a few things.  Val will finalize everything for the November Budget Hearing.
