Board meeting minutes of February 19, 2024

Chairman Nielsen called the meeting to order at 6pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.

Present:  Chairman Nielsen, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Stephanie May, Patrolman Kevin Finder and Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor, Nick Kaiser (Boyceville School Superintendent) and townspeople Perry Johnson and Pete and Deb Holmlund

Pledge of Allegiance

Board decided to have Nick Kaiser give his presentation on the upcoming referendum.  See new business below.

Motion to approve January 15, 2024 minutes as written was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May.  Approved.

Treasurer’s Report:              Balance on hand January 1, 2024               $40,749.58

January Receipts                                          $222,511.06

Less January Disbursements                      $233,497.65

Book balance as of January 31, 2024         $29,762.99

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by S. May.  Approved.

Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Maintenance Report: We have rewards with our township credit card that could be used for many things.  Stephanie will check into what they can be used for and get back to us.  Road conditions are in pretty good shape.  They have temporary road bans on.

Chairman Report:  Discussion on the new truck payout and road maintenance funds.

Supervisors Report: Karl and Stephanie went to the Dunn Co. Towns association meeting on Jan. 29th.  They got a lot of info on the new culvert inspections/inventory. We will contact Dustin with the county as they will do this inventory for us free of charge.

Clerk-Treasurer Report:  Received a nice card and $500 donation from Candy Anderson in honor of Bob.

Building Permits:  None

Committee Reports:  No meetings were held for the Fire or Ambulance Districts.  Ambulance Reports were emailed out.

Public Comment: None

New Business:  Nick Kaiser, Boyceville School Superintendent is here to give a presentation on the upcoming Boyceville School Referendum (to be voted on in April).  Mr. Kaiser went over the handout he gave.  Few questions were asked of Mr. Kaiser.  The school is offering community informational meetings with a walk-thru scheduled for Thursday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 19.

Mr. Kaiser explained this is a capital referendum, it cannot be used for salaries.  It will only be used for fixing things.  It will be “up to $18 million” it will not go over that amount.
