Board Meeting minutes of November 21, 2022

Chairman Nielsen called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.

Present:  Chairman Nielsen, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Stephanie May, Maintenance Kevin Finder and Clerk-Treasurer Val Windsor

Pledge of Allegiance

Motion to approve October 17, 2022 minutes as written was made by S. May, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Treasurer’s Report:           Balance as of October 1, 2022                       $6,537.05

October Receipts                                              $37,216.45

Less October Disbursements                         $25,963.14

Book balance as of October 31, 2022          $17,790.36

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by S. May. Approved.

 

Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. May.  Approved.

 

Maintenance Report:  Tires were purchased and put on.  All the salt/sand was hauled (for now) with the help from DKS.  Found some garbage that was thrown off into the ditch on 800th Ave. was able to find a name in it, called the sheriff’s dept, they gave a citation.

 

Chairman Report:  None

 

Supervisors Report:  None

 

Clerk-Treasurer Report:  Election on the 8th went well, had 400 voters.

 

Committee Reports:  There was a closed session special fire district meeting.  Cory Green, fire district chief has given his resignation, effective January 1, 2023.  Ambulance meeting went well, it was decided to go to quarterly meetings instead of monthly.  They will be meeting again in January. With the current fire chief resigning, there was some discussion on Fire and Ambulance having 1 chief, 1 board,

1 chairman.

 

Building Permits:  None

 

Public Comment: None

 

New Business:  Spectrum was asking for the board to allow them to occupy existing lines within the township.  The board has given them permission to do this, however nothing new can be completed, only the existing lines.  Steve has been in contact with 24-7, they are aware of what Spectrum is doing and have not had any problems with it so far.

 

No public here so went right into Budget Hearing.

 

Went over the line items.  Some discussion on the levy, only raising what the state allows.

 

Motion to approve the 2023 Budget was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

 

Motion to adjourn meeting was made by S. May, 2nd by S. Nielsen.  Approved.
