Board meeting minutes of October 25, 2021

Chairman Anderson called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.

Present:  Chairman Anderson, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Steve Nielsen, Maintenance Kevin Finder, Clerk-Treasurer Valerie Windsor

Pledge of Allegiance

Motion to approve September minutes was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Fence issue is resolved from August.

Treasurer’s Report:     Balance as of September 1, 2021                 $9,632.47

September Receipts                                       $19,834.11

September Disbursements                           $22,929.53

Balance as of September 30, 2021              $8,469.45

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was made by B. Anderson, 2nd by S. Nielsen.  Approved.

Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by B. Anderson, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Maintenance Report: Kevin took the tires and TV’s to Almena from roll off day.  Their prices have significantly increased.

Kevin caught someone from Knapp throwing garbage into our dumpsters, he had them remove it all.

Bob will ask Randy Hurtgen about working roll off days as Bob Humpal is not going to be doing it anymore.

The brush mower and tractor is back and ready to go back tomorrow.  Val will bill Lucas and Springfield for a third of the cost.

Kevin ordered tires for the truck but they’re not sure when they’ll be in.

Beavers on 930th.

Kevin will be needing a new phone as his is going out.  Motion was made by S. Nielsen for Kevin to go to Verizon and get the smartphone of his choosing, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Chairman Report:  We need to adjust our rolloff prices as we are paying out a lot more than we are bringing in.

Brookview Cemetery—the person in charge of this one acre cemetery wants the town to take it over.  Teresa Stevens is doing a great job of keeping it maintained.

Town of Stanton has been approved for the 24-7 Telcom fiber to home project.

There will be a teleconference meeting with Dunn County Board of Adjustment regarding Josh Edhlunds special exemption permit on November 15, 2021 at 5:30pm.  Karl will be the spokesperson on behalf of the township. Val will post this meeting.  Motion was made to adjust our town meeting date to Wednesday, November 17th, 7pm by B. Anderson, 2nd by S. Nielsen.  Approved

Bob and Karl will be attending the Dunn County WTA meeting on Wednesday, the 27th.

Supervisors Report:  Steve said residents have appreciated the job Kevin has done with the brush mower.

Karl will be in contact with Ann (Dunn Co. Zoning) about the teleconference meeting regarding Edhlund’s permit.

Clerk-Treasurer Report:  Chairman will sign the contract for Dunn Co to collect our taxes.

Building Permits:  Robert Scheel is building on the Stanton/Boyceville line.  Karl Hackbarth is in process of selling his current house to his son and will be building a single level home on the north east corner of the property.  Karl asked the board and Kevin about clearing the out lot on the northeast corner.  Kevin would like this as it’ll make it much easier for snow plowing.  Board suggested Karl let the DNR know what he is doing.

Fire District is meeting quarterly instead of monthly.

Ambulance is currently at 14 EMT’s.

 

New Business:  Preliminary 2022 Budget.  Went over each line item in expenditures.  Some discussion on road maintenance.   We plan to submit .08 miles to the LRIP application for 150th.
