September 2021 meeting minutes

Board Meeting minutes of September 20, 2021

Chairman Anderson called the meeting to order at 7pm at the Stanton Town Shop, Knapp, WI.

Present:  Chairman Anderson, Supervisors Karl Hackbarth and Steve Nielsen, Maintenance Kevin Finder, Clerk-Treasurer Valerie Windsor and townspeople Josh Cassell, George Cassell, Bob Cassell, Sam Cassell, Nick Schaff

Pledge of Allegiance

Motion to approve August minutes was made by K. Hackbarth, 2nd by S. Nielsen.  Approved.

Treasurer’s Report:        Balance as of August 1, 2021              $33,777.31

August Receipts                                   $106,374.52

Less August Disbursements               $130,519.36

Book balance as of Aug. 31, 2021        $9,632.47

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Motion to approve Vouchers and Checks was made by S. Nielsen, 2nd by K. Hackbarth.  Approved.

Maintenance Report: Flexible Plastics sent us boxes of bad bags, they have since sent replacements for those.

Kevin found an arm mower/tractor we can rent, he called other area townships, they are willing to go into the rental with us.  Each township would have about a week, it would give us about 53 hours on mower for $3300.00 total.  Motion was made by S. Nielsen we go with the rental from Monroe, 2nd was made B. Anderson.  Approved.  Kevin will get it on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Chairman Report:  Fence issue between Jeff Kegen and Kevin Eggink.  We have sent Kevin a letter asking him to call Bob within 7 days, if he doesn’t call, we will be taking further action.

Last week was the Fire/Ambulance meeting.  Bob discussed a few things that went on at those meetings.

Supervisors Report: Steve has a resident asking about the speed within the township.

Clerk-Treasurer Report:  Rolloff brought in $601. The citizen vote for the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Resolution brought 142 voters.

Next month’s meeting will be October 25th and will be the preliminary budget.

Committee Reports:  See Chairman Report for Fire/Ambulance. See new business for Plan Commission

 

New Business:  Boyceville Police Chief Lamkin is here to discuss a few things going on.  Boyceville will be hiring another officer to help out with the schools, the wage for this officer will be paid by the school district.  Since the township pays taxes to the schools, and the schools will be funding this position they are reaching out to see if we want to use this officer in our township to help out with ordinance enforcement, road weight restrictions, bus crashes, ect…We will discuss this as a board.

Signing of the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Resolution.  Citizen vote was done on September 18, 2021.  142 Voters, 115 yes, 27 no.  B. Anderson made the motion we sign this resolution, 2nd by S. Nielsen.  Approved.

Plan Commission met on August 24th.  They voted on a proceeding for Josh’s request for wedding venues only. If passed tonight at the board level, it will be brought before the Board of Adjustment in Dunn County in October.  Karl made the motion we approve this application for the permit of wedding venues only, 2nd by B. Anderson.  Approved.
